The Enchanting Picture She Has Painted:
A Look at the Work of Hennepin County Artist Tessie Bundick
Picture

The Hennepin History Museum is proud to present an exhibition featuring a fascinating look at a fascinating local artist/resident and the “Enchanting Pictures She Paints.” We have chosen Tessie Bundick as the subject of this exhibition because her body of work is distinguished and very broad.  We want to share with viewers the insight and experience of a Hennepin County resident who has made up her mind to work in the theatre, television, and film, not in New York or Hollywood, but right here in Hennepin County.

Tessie Bundick, a Hennepin County based costume designer and make-up artist with a Ph.D in Theatre Arts from the University of Minnesota, has designed costumes and make-up for feature films, theatre, television productions and commercials.  Tessie has powdered the faces, arranged the hair, and costumed the likes of River Phoenix, Emmy Lou Harris, Garrison Keillor, Chet Atkins, the Everly Brothers, Jose Ferrer, and Douglas Fairbanks, Jr.,among many others.

Permanent Exhibit
This Hennepin History Museum exhibition looks at growing up in Hennepin County through a series of “time stations” that examine educating, entertaining, dressing, and putting children to work. You will see how these things impacted a century of kids and shaped the world we live in today. This exhibit will look at everything from rolling hoops to the hula hoops…

You will also glimpse the darker side of Hennepin County through subjects such as child labor, abuse, and the notorious baby farms that proliferated in Hennepin County at the turn of the 20th Century.

This unique exhibition will be a presentation of children's daily life seldom seen elsewhere.

Curiosities and Remnants

Picture
This exhibition is the first in a series of ongoing exhibitions which will look at curiosities and oddities from around Hennepin County. This first installment will highlight some of Hennepin History Museum's most unusual artifacts including the unique remains of a podiatrist's collection, a giant bellows, and a selection of archival artifacts.
The Hennepin History Museum is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
